Oh, what a beautiful morning
I would just like to say that it is 5:30 a.m., and already this morning I have straightened my hair (while watching an episode of The West Wing, of course), gotten dressed, put on my makeup, and gotten my things together for the day. Now I’m ready to review before my only class of the day, CivPro.
Gotta love getting up at 4 a.m.
Anne's Tumblr! →
To my friends that know the awesomeness that is Anne: follow her tumblr. :) She’s liberal, artsy, more fashionable than all my other friends, loves good music/movies/books, and somehow manages to be a healthy combination of realism, cynicism, and even idealism. Like me, it depends on the topic she’s on as to which of those apply :)
Follow. Now. Thanks.

:( So sad…
On a happier note, I did get to play there (the Surf Ballroom) in a quartet once. Pretty much the coolest place I’ve ever been able to perform…

On February 3 (Iowa time), it will be 50 years since that horrible night. It’s both sad and intriguing to imagine what music would have been made if Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens...
Suspect each moment, for it is a thief, tiptoeing away with more than it brings.

– I love our professors sometimes…although only my CivPro teacher says things worth writing down and laughing about later. :)

I know exactly which bus driver you are talking about, and I love him. He’s the nicest driver for the Oakcrest route. Grouchy McGroucherson on the morning route could learn a thing or two from him.

Every now and then I acquire a really urgent case of cabin fever and venture into downtown Iowa City to run some errands and do some studying. Today I went to Java House to get...
Op-Ed column: Bad Faith Economics →
haha…bad faith. That will forever make me think of Burton. Sorry, Danielle, my comment has absolutely nothing to do with the merits of this article or your comments.

I have not yet formed a complete opinion about the proposed economic stimulus plan. But I love the last bit of this op-ed column debunking the classic arguments against stimulus through government...

I came across this as I was searching for music that I missed last year. I don’t agree with all of them, but here they are :)

Oh, honestly.
I’ve been a bit confused in the last two weeks as to why we spend so much time in Legal Analysis Writing & Research trying to learn to make our writing extremely concise, clear, and, well—logical and analytical. It seems to me that only about one in every four opinions I have to read is put together in a way that makes enough sense that I can answer most questions regarding the...

Oh, and I see that you still aren’t “following” my tumblr, whore. You’d better get on that.
I let it go, and it came back to me. It must truly...
I love the panicked feeling I have right now. It has been missing in my life since December 19. Good thing I got it back today during LAWR when we were talking about Statutory Research for our briefs.
Pretty sure everything I learned in LAWR has been drowned in alcohol by now.
Shit.

Apparently I’m gross. It took me almost ALL DAY to clean my apartment and do laundry.
I’m sad about this :(
Into the Woods - Moments in the Woods
Let the moment go… Don’t forget it for a moment, though. Just remembering you’ve had an “and”, When you’re back to “or”, Makes the “or” mean more Than it did before. Now I understand- And it’s time to leave the woods.

Have I mentioned how much I love this musical?

I’m starting to wonder if when my life gets really stressful that I sabotage things that are important to me simply because they are stressful. Then I don’t have to worry about dealing with them at all.
I think that’s what happens with me…a lot.
Me: I hate my life…
Me: And there are still so many years left of it.
Brad: Ashley Marr, the face of optimism.
I think Random House put out this list of the Top 100 Novels of All Time…Some I agree with—others I would replace with some of my personal favorites (but what do I know?). I need to read more good books…I’ve hardly read any of these.

Trip
I’m heading to St. Louis until Thursday, so I probably won’t be able to update until then. The few people who look at this can text me if they want to get ahold of me. :) <3, all.
I’m going to have to start telling my jokes on a fucking learning curve.

Sad
Everyone’s coming back tomorrow…and I’m leaving on Monday. Talk about poor luck. I think I shall require everyone to come out with me on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It’s the last real chance I have to get into all the trouble I want…should be interesting. :)
And...I suck at life
I got a call from a friend I haven’t seen in ages, and now I’m hopping on the last bus downtown to hang out with her at her apartment. I’m going to bring my GMAT books with me so that I at least feel like I might look at them if I have a chance.
Eff.
Damn it
I can’t seem to get motivated today. Okay, here’s what’s going to happen: I’m going to continue reading until 8 p.m., at which point I will get up and clean :)
I figure if I post it, I might actually follow through.
